How we use your data
AMillionPaths exists to make career decisions more human and more informed. To do that, we ask people to share their life events through work, education and experiences. We know that's personal. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, who can see it, how it may be used in future, and what you can control.
What you share
When you build a path, you can include:
- roles and study (job titles, organisations, courses, dates)
- experiences outside work and education that shaped you
- short reflections on what you learned, the skills you built and what came next.
You don’t have to answer every question. Only share what you’re comfortable for others to see, and you can edit or delete events later.
Who can see your path right now
While AMillionPaths is in its early invite-only phase:
- people you invite can see your path
- anyone you share a direct link with (for example on LinkedIn) can see the content on that link.
We don’t show your contact details or year of birth to other users unless you add them into your story yourself.
How your information may be used in future
Over time, we’re building AMillionPaths so people can:
- explore the real stories behind roles
- see paths others have taken from “where I am now" to “where I’d like to be”
- understand the skills, study and experiences that tend to sit in between.
To make that work, parts of your path may be shown to other users and used to build aggregated insights about roles and pathways. You’ll be able to choose whether an event is:
- attributed – shown with your name
- de-identified – the story is visible but not linked to you.
Your choices and controls
- You can review and edit your path at any time
- You’ll be able to switch events, or your whole path, between attributed and de-identified
- You can request deletion of your personal information, in line with our Privacy Policy
- If we introduce any feature that materially changes how your data can be seen or used, we’ll email you first and give you at least 14 days’ notice so you can adjust your settings or stop using the Service if you prefer.
Under 16s
AMillionPaths is designed for people aged 16 and over. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can help.
